The Educational Support Professionals of the Pinellas County Schools have voted to approve the Tentative Agreement reached on September 6th between the Pinellas County School Board and the Pinellas Educational Support Professionals Association (PESPA). The employees voted overwhelmingly in support of the agreement. The tentative agreement passed with 98% of the votes in favor of ratification.
Nelly Henjes, PESPA President stated that “The District is working with us to try and increase wages for our support professionals but the funding from the state this year once again has been sadly lacking. The PESPA bargaining team feels the settlement is fair and we are confident that the District will continue to work collaboratively on ways to ensure that the people who help educate our children are earning a living wage.” The Union continues to engage with our members, our parents, and our communities to find real solutions to the challenges faced by our district.
PESPA is the certified bargaining agent for the approximately 2,600 Educational Support Professionals employed by the School District. Additional information regarding the Tentative Agreements is available by accessing the PCTA-PESPA website at www.pcta-pespa.org.
